About Gale West

Nature, books, music, writing, creativity, and delving in the mysteries of human behavior and spirituality were my sustenance growing up.

Along with beauty, these qualities have been guideposts in my work and life. As a result, I have an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts and New Media and an extensive background in numerous healing and psychological modalities. These include Internal Family Systems, clinical hypnosis, Reiki, Akashic Records, Intentional Creativity and more.

As an interdisciplinary artist, I’ve worked in numerous modalities: figurative sculpture, metal sculpture, multi-media media installations, multi-media performance, printmaking, experimental sound, photography, video, and painting.

Currently, I am primarily an abstract painter working in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and alcohol ink. I love texture and mixed media. I have used mediums such tissue paper, tar gel, marble dust, plastic wrap and sand. Experimentation is key in any creative process.

A few years ago, I had two strokes. They have deepened my connection to nature, consciousness and art. Creativity and beauty feed the soul. I goal is to create paintings that are the essence of spirit, beauty, color, and life.
